Trying to find an excellent Canadian tale is not that hard to do- after all, there have been several Canadian authors in the past several hundred years that have made Canada proud. However, when looking for that show-stopping page-turning book, it's hard to come up with the right book, not to mention the top 100 books. The Literary Review of Canada took the work out of finding the best Canadian books in 2006 when they made their list of the Most Important Canadian Books. So what made the list, what didn’t and who are the great authors behind these works of art? Read on to find out what books written in the time period 1970 to 1982 made the top 100. During these twelve years, many talented authors, including Alice Munro, Pierre Burton, Margaret Atwood and Joy Kogawa, became a part of Canadian history.
