Canadian literary great Margaret Atwood will set out on a book tour like no other to promote her latest novel The Year of the Flood.
Margaret Atwood is known for her unique storytelling and, on her latest book tour for The Year of the Flood, Atwood is most certainly out to astound. Several newspapers across the globe have reported that Atwood’s latest book tour will not include the standard readings and question and answer period, but instead will feature an hour-long theatrical performance based on the debut novel. Where to Catch the ShowLos Angeles composer Orville Stoeber wrote the score for the theatrical performance that Atwood will perform in six Canadian cities, as well as five international venues in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and Sweden. In Canada, Atwood will be in the following cities in September, October and November.
The international dates have not yet been released at the time of publication. What to Expect from Margaret AtwoodIf her books have taught us one thing, it’s to expect the unexpected when it comes to this literary genius. The Year of the Flood will feature three actors and a choir with Atwood serving as narrator for the show. Each show will feature a different performance from actors from that local city. The Year of the Flood, which will be on sale September 8th, picks up on themes from her novel Oryx and Crake and promises to be anything but ordinary. Hailed by Random House as a “dystrophic masterpiece and a testament to her visionary power,” The Year of the Flood is both dark and tender with unique characters and a heartening storyline. Atwood’s complex presentation is said to parallel the complexity of the novel itself.
